Wealth is all around

Privilege, the word conjures up different things for different people. It can be a loaded, triggering word these days, and rightly so. We often view people with perceived privilege as the villain, as the lucky ones, individuals who somehow possess something we see as unattainable. Money, respect, power, class, equality. Many of the issues we struggle with as a global society have devastating repercussions, and privilege certainly is included in that list. That is why the above statement caught my attention. It made me really think about what I do and do not have and why. Why is it important, why is it not....when you really stop and think about it, you may be surprised with your answers. Once you focus on the privileges you do have, and we all have them, no matter what our circumstances, it really does change the narrative. Appreciation for having the opportunity to...fill in the blank...can really make our perception of privilege change. This in turn, can help us soften attitudes towards ourselves and others. Which in this day and age, can be so healing for everyone.
